The sun’s bright light illuminates the world
Until dusk’s embrace, and then it’s swirled
Into the moon’s grace, a gentle swirl
Just like my mistress’s fame, it can twirl
And rise above all, or fade tonight
Depending on how well she’s perceived, light
It Can be unforgiving, turning mean
Leaving lovers in the shade to flee, keen
It’s in these moments that I recall
My foundation, bright, bold, standing tall
Strong enough to light up the world
As if made of gold, a flag unfurled
Although I doubted if it was mine
To own, it grew into a pine, fine
Its character was harsh, and I was unsure
Of its grip, but it watched me, demure
Like an eagle in the sky, it soared
And held me like a vulture, its claws gnarled
But now I know it’s a symbol of my strength
The Resilience, and support, with bonds of a vast length.
