Daisy’s Story: A Tale of Love, Fear, and Resilience

Daisy's love story
Comfort is in your arms.

In matters of the heart, time often plays tricks on us. This story unfolds a chapter from a recurring love tale—one that brought Daisy into my life a year ago. With her arrival, she revealed hidden layers of my existence—both unexpected and melancholic.

Two months into our relationship, Daisy shared a cherished piece of her past—the love story of her parents. She spoke of how they met, fell in love, and the tiny details that made their journey so special.

On August 23rd, I received the seventh call from her that day. Each call carried her lively energy, filled with amusing anecdotes from her daily life. That evening, we wandered through the bustling streets of Amritsar, surrounded by the city’s charm. Yet, beneath her vibrant exterior, I sensed an underlying unease.

Finally, Daisy confessed. She was being followed—two unwelcome figures from her past in Delhi had returned to haunt her. While studying at Anita Bhavan, she had a troubling encounter with two men—Sagar Shakti and Vivek Deep.

She hesitated before revealing the details. Sagar and Vivek had gained a reputation for harassing female students, leaving Daisy burdened with years of anxiety and self-doubt.

One particular incident still haunted her. It was a Sunday morning in her B.Tech CSE class when Sagar approached the girl sitting beside Daisy. His intentions were never innocent; he used casual conversations as a pretext to isolate her. Despite his overbearing nature, Sagar’s academic excellence and powerful connections—being the son of Delhi’s Vice-Chancellor of Defence—made it hard for Daisy to completely avoid him.

Ignoring him only provoked his persistence. He began making subtle threats, implying he could control where she went and who she met. That day, fate intervened. I happened to walk in at the right moment, catching Sagar and his group off guard. My reputation for standing up against such behavior had reached them before I did, and they quickly backed off.

Daisy, visibly shaken, slipped into my car. At the time, I didn’t fully grasp the weight of her fear, so I tried to ease the tension. I suggested rolling down the windows, feeling the cool night air. When she mentioned the lack of air conditioning, I joked, “Nature offers the best cooling system.”

We let the wind rush in, and I watched her slowly relax. The city lights blurred past, and for a moment, I hoped the breeze would carry away a part of her worries. I drove her home, wishing I could do more, but sometimes, even the smallest comforts can mean everything.
